Shopping at the Bac Ha Market (Day 118 – 2016)
Vietnamese ethnic groups (Miao, Hmong, Dao OJ, Tay and Giay), who inhabit the mountainous region of Bac Ha, come to the market here in the village of Bac Ha for trading all kinds of spices, tobacco, food, fabrics and crafts. The small village of Bac Ha is in the Northern Vietnam mountains, close to the Chinese border.

Enjoyed a fantastic couple of days on Chiloé Island. The colourful wooden buildings, houses on stilts (palofitos), scenery and seafood were all fantastic. Nearly all the houses and buildings in colonial Chiloe were built with wood, and wood shingles were used extensively for siding & roofs. So many of the houses today still have the same construction, and painted in bright colours.
